The 21st Century Christian Woman: feminism, women’s rights, and the bible. (Part 2)

Part 2: The lies we are told

The average person will tell you that being a feminist is about believing in the equality of the sexes, and the option to disregard traditionally held gender roles. They talk about the under-representation of women in the corporate world, how there’s AFL and Women’s AFL, that sportswomen are paid less than sportsmen, and that violence against women is higher than violence against men.

If this were true feminism then in Western, Anglo-Saxon countries, feminists should not exist. Here in Australia, I cannot think of a single right that my husband has that I do not*, and I could easily leave him to look after the kids while I worked full-time if we so chose, and I’d be paid just as much as he would if I did the same hours at the same job.

Feminists go very quiet on the topic of under-representation of women rubbish truck drivers. They disregard the fact that no one watches (or wants to watch) women’s footy and that is why those athletes are paid less. And as for abuse statistics, while men are overwhelmingly the perpetrators, let’s not forget that lesbians are more likely to be victims than heterosexual women.

So why do feminists still exist in countries like Australia? Could it be that there’s more to this movement than we’re told there is?

Toppling the ‘patriarchy’

Patriarchy (noun). Social organization marked by the supremacy of the father in the clan or family, the legal dependence of wives and children, and the reckoning of descent and inheritance in the male line. Broadlycontrol by men of a disproportionately large share of power.’ (Merriam-Webster dictionary)

It’s a patriarchal world, where women are suppressed simply because they are women, and have no access to power. How do we know this? Not because we see it, or experience it, but because we’re told it. Because this is what women the panelists on The View (American left-wing talk-show led by Whoopi Goldburg) – women who freely spout their very strong misandrist opinions daily to audiences across the world and are paid millions to do so – tell us!

I’m not saying that women have never had a rough deal in the history of humanity, because they have. I’m also not saying that there are still areas in which men tend to get along better in than women, because there are. But I would happily debate that for the patriarchy to be toppled in the West, it first needs to be set up. I’ll be delving more into this in Part 3.

What scares me is that feminists don’t just want to ‘topple’ the patriarchy, they want to replace it. They don’t just want to see more women CEOs, they want to see only women CEOs. They don’t just want to have women be seen and heard alongside of men, they want only women to be seen and heard.

Feminism isn’t what you think it is

Here are three facts about feminism that you probably don’t know:

1.      Most agree that feminism begins with Mary Wollonstonecraft (1759-1797), long before the suffragettes of the early 1900s and bra-burning radicals in the 1970s.

2.      Early feminists were occultists and saw the real enemy/patriarchy as Christianity. They opposed Biblical values, including gender roles and familial relationships.**

3.      Feminist desire is for women to not simply be equal to men, but to dominate men. But first they must be saved from their body’s natural penchant towards creating another little human being should they have sex! Feminists believe that they should be able to walk away from such activities without repercussions and not be burdened by pregnancy or motherhood, and so were big proponents of abortion (Mary Singer founded Planned Parenthood).

I am reminded of the movie Mary Poppins where Mrs Banks is always running off to support women voting. Her passion for the Cause is compelling until you realise that it comes hand-in-hand with neglect: she leaves the cooking to the cook, the cleaning to the maid, and her children’s care to a random stranger. What on earth is her role in that family? Even as a child I could see that Mrs Banks was not a very good mother.

What is true Feminism?

·         It is directly opposed to Christianity.

·         It is not the advocation for women’s rights, but rather the decimation of men’s rights.

·         It does not encourage the natural roles of wife and mother.

·         Feminism inevitably morphs into misandry; that is, hatred or prejudice against men and boys. I would not be surprised if there are more misandrists in the West than misogynists!

While there are many true Feminists (with or without an understanding of the true history and precepts of the ideology), many calling themselves such are merely interested in advocating for women’s rights. But what’s the difference? (Hint: read part 3 to find out!).

Footnotes

*You might say that the exception to this rule is that women’s safe-spaces are no longer exclusively for women thanks to the infiltration by trans-women (aka. men), however men haven’t had men-only clubs, activities, or spaces for a while thanks to women shutting them down because they whinged about them being sexist.
